Get Ready To Cross The River?

Are you feeling dry in the spirit?

Wondering where God is in your situation?

You are praying, faithfully believing God will come through for you, but you can’t hear him, you can’t feel him.  Desperate for a fresh touch from Holy Spirit, so you cry out to Him. “Why can’t I sense God?” you ask.

How do you get the river of God to flow in your life again?

In a moment in prayer, I asked God, “what do you want me to tell your people?”  He immediately showed me a vision, standing on a dry riverbed of stones. l saw a fish land on the stones in front of me, as if it jumped out from within the stones and it laid flapping in front of me.

Are you in a Drought?

Everything around you are in drought.  It might be your finances are not flowing, relationships are on rocky ground, work has dried up, whatever it may be for you.  As a result, you feel like you are standing on the edge of a dry river, and you can’t see how the river will flow again. Be encouraged! God is on the move!

God is Making a Path

A dry riverbed is your crossing into blessing.  He is making a way for you to safely cross, on dry ground.

When all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings who lived along the Mediterranean coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan River so the people of Israel could cross, they lost heart and were paralysed with fear because of them.

Joshua 5:1 NLT

God is making a way. and giving you a crossing to your promise land. What may seem like a setback, is God is setting you up to receive a blessing.

He has dried up your river to encourage you to cross.  To press in deeper to Him.  He is taking you to another spiritual high.  Don’t sit on the edge and wait.  Go after it!

Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance.

Revelation 16:12 NLT

What do you need to do to cross your dry river?  Is it more time in His word to get the answer you need? Singing praises to get you through your storm and receive the breakthrough you are asking for? Or worship to focus in awe on His love.

Has he asked you to step out, apply for that job, start that business, say yes to serving in ministry, forgive that person, open your heart to love again, and trust again?

It’s time to lift your voice in Praise.

Rejoice! It is when you feel dry, He is getting ready to open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out a blessing on you.  Our Lord, Jesus Christ is leading you to your blessing, and this is where you will be filled up beyond measure to overflowing.

For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children.

Isaiah 44:3 NLT

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

John 7:37-38 NLT

How is Your Heart?

Now is the time to check the condition of your heart.  What do you need to release and surrender to God?  Who do you need to forgive?  Are there offense are you holding on to?  Ask Him to reveal to you anything in your heart that is blocking the dam wall from bursting open for you.

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.

Psalms 51:10 NLT

Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.

Proverbs 3:3 NLT

Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:3 NLT

It is time to Feast

God is your Jehovah Jireh.  Your provider.  He provides you with spiritual food and he wants you to feast on it.  Run to Him to get your revelation in His word.

Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted.

John 6:11 NLT

Then Jesus served them the bread and the fish.

John 21:13

You have been in training.

God has the key to your river crossing.  He has equipped you for the battle and has been preparing you for your victory.

David was prepared in the fields as a Sheppard before he fought Goliath, by fighting lions and bears.  He has prepared you in your field before he has brought you to this river crossing.  Trust in what God has brought you through before.  It has been your training ground for where He is about to take you now.

He picked up five smooth stones from a stream and put them into his shepherd’s bag. Then, armed only with his shepherd’s staff and sling, he started across the valley to fight the Philistine.

1 Samuel 17:40 NLT

Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground.

1 Samuel 17:49 NLT

You are never alone.

You are not alone! God has put trusted people around you to support you. You know who they are. Trust in them, lean on them, and let them hold you up in prayer.

Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT

A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

Luke 5:7 NLT

The blessing is not just for you.

Others will drink from your overflow. Your blessing is not just for you. Those in your path will receive it too. Rivers of living water will flow from you and others will not be able to deny your blessing and stand in your flood.

You will be blessed to be a blessing, and as a result, many will see the Glory of God through the blessing He has for you.
